Here's Luck Lottery Centre owner Mr. Raj Selvendra with St Vincent de Paul's Brian Bull
Mr. Raj Selvendra is working with local charity group the St Vincent de Paul Society to help parents get their children off to school this year. "Sel", as he is known to many locals who shop at Here's Luck Lottery Centre, has donated $1000 to the Belmont-based welfare organisation for its back-to-school assistance campaign. St Vinnies volunteers will use the money to support parents with school-related expenses, including the cost of uniforms, books and other learning resources. St Vinnies state president Brian Bull said the financial support was in addition to the charity's emotional support services, which helped people get back on their feet. "We help people who find it difficult to meet everyday bills and living expenses - and the cost of the school year is just too much for some." Mr Bull and Sel hosted a presentation and morning tea last weekend, along with local politicians Eric Ripper and Kate Doust and Lotterywest chair Clyde Bevan.
